At the ND Game and Fish Department (NDGF), we are driven by our mission to protect, conserve, and enhance fish and wildlife populations and their habitat for sustained public consumptive and appreciative use. Hiring Salary: $8,500-$10,500 per month, plus the state benefit package. The hiring salary will depend on the experience of the selected candidate and the agencies budget. We are looking for a purpose-driven, experienced leader to serve as the next Chief of Administrative Services at the North Dakota Game and Fish Department in our Bismarck, ND office. As a key member of the agency's senior leadership team, the Chief of Administrative Services will oversee the Administrative Services Division, directing its section leaders and staff. This role encompasses a broad scope of responsibilities, including fiscal management, federal grants, procurement, licensing, information technology services, human resource management, risk management, facility maintenance, and administrative support. Duties include: Act as a strategic partner to agency leadership, providing guidance and support to achieve organizational goals. Coach and mentor managers and leaders to effectively navigate and facilitate organizational change.Collaborate with agency leadership to design, implement, and refine a comprehensive organizational strategy that aligns with the agency's mission and objectives.Identify the need for structural changes and lead the implementation of new or evolving frameworks to support the agency's growth and adaptability. Provide fiscal oversight, including coordinating the preparation, execution, and monitoring of the agency's biennial budget. Prepare financial projections and communicate budgetary concerns to administration and division chiefs. Represent the agency during budget reviews, legislative committee hearings, and meetings with other stakeholder groups. Supervise the administration of federal aid programs, ensuring compliance and effective utilization of resources. Serve as the agency's representative during state and federal audits, addressing inquiries and ensuring adherence to regulations. Lead the Department's human resource management functions, fostering a productive and compliant workplace environment. The ideal candidate will possess: Executive-level composure and presence, with the ability to inspire confidence and handle high-pressure situations effectively. A proven track record of strategic thinking and delivering impactful solutions to complex challenges. Exceptional time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and consistently meet deadlines. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to navigate intricate scenarios and develop effective resolutions. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to clearly convey information and ideas. Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills, fostering positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Superior organizational skills and keen attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all aspects of work.
