North Dakota State Hospital - Jamestown, ND - Exercise Specialist (Activity Therapist II) **Sign on Bonus up to $8,000 with a two-year commitment** The North Dakota State Hospital (NDSH), located in Jamestown, is a specialized psychiatric hospital that serves the whole state. Services focus on psychiatric rehabilitation, residential substance use disorders treatment, and residential sexual offenders' treatment program. As an Exercise Specialist/Activity Therapist II-, you will provide physical fitness programs for adults with mental illness and substance use of all functional abilities in the Inpatient Psychiatric Services program. Programs will include individual and group fitness training. You will be responsible for motivating individuals to develop a physically active lifestyle, which will lead to tangible results in improving overall health, fitness, wellness, and managing recovery. You will thrive in this position, if you are a confident person with a desire to change individuals' lives through exercise and wellness. A high level of flexibility and leadership are key to success when working at NDSH. The use of creativity, person centered goal planning and monitoring of individual growth will assist you in supporting the recovery goals of the persons served. To be considered for this position, you are required to have a bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Fitness and Wellness, Kinesiology, Recreation Therapy, Movement Science, Athletic Training, Physical Education, Occupational therapy, Physical therapy and one year of work experience with Indvidual's with cognitive and/or physical challenges. Underfill will be considered as Bachelors' degree in one of the previous listed degrees and no previous work experience. This position requires a valid driver's license and successful completion of the assigned defensive driving course during new-hire orientation. Location: ND HHS utilizes a blended workplace model. This position is required to work onsite at the State Hospital in Jamestown, North Dakota. Applicant is required to work at least one weekend day every other week with traditional hours of 8am to 5pm. Schedule is flexible to meet the client's and applicant's needs.
