Career Description
Essential functions of this position (51-6202) include but are not limited to the following: perform reception duties for the agency which consists of answering calls and directing to the appropriate worker or customer service center, greeting the public and assist in determining what services are needed or which case worker needs to be contacted, opening daily mail, copying and faxing. Applicant must have a good knowledge of community services available and have the ability to work with other agencies to inquire about updates in services. As an assistant to the Child Welfare unit, you will assist with administrative needs to assist all units which includes faxing, sending releases of information, records redaction and any other duties as needed or assigned. Applicant must be computer proficient.
Minimum Qualifications
Associates Degree with an emphasis in office related functions or customer service and one year work experience; or high school diploma or GED with a minimum of one year work experience in an administrative setting. Must be able to work effectively in a complex work environment. Ability to interact effectively with diverse client population. Organization, attention to detail, ability to seek initiative to complete tasks, critical thinking and ability to make decisions efficiently are essential components. Must adhere strictly to confidentiality in all aspects of the position.
