Minimum Qualifications

To be considered for this opportunity, you must meet the following requirements:Requires six (6) years of work experience in the operation and maintenance of a complex physical plant. The experience must have included substantial responsibilities for preventive and special maintenance of facilities, equipment and grounds, custodial services, onsite review and coordination of contractor projects, interpreting blueprints, building plans and estimating costs. Requires familiarity with building codes, the handling of infectious and hazardous materials and related regulations, or similar duties related to physical plant operations. Two years of the work experience must have included responsibility for scheduling and lead work or supervision of other staff. Up to three years of college-level course work in a related field may be substituted for the required work experience on a year-for-year basis. The incumbent requires a high degree of interpersonal skills and the ability to demonstrate positive interactions with co-workers, customers, suppliers and the public. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Software, must possess a valid ND driver's license and the ability to report within 20 minutes of the complex. Successful completion of the interview process, reference checks and background investigation are required.

This internship will provide quality experience with reading and understanding NDDOT plans and specifications while working on construction projects. Applicants will have the opportunity to gain experience in materials testing, construction surveying, and construction inspection while ensuring projects are built according to the plans and specifications.This experience will provide you with real life experience working on active civil construction projects. You will be part of a great project team and will learn valuable technical skills as well as how to communicate and work effectively as a team.

Minimum Qualifications

* Must be enrolled in an engineering technology or any engineering undergraduate or graduate degree program.* Preference will be given to those enrolled in a civil technology degree program.* Requires ability to lift and carry a total weight of up to 50 pounds.* Possession of a valid Class D Driver License for travel within the state of North Dakota.Requires satisfactory completion of the interview process, successful completion of a job function test and a verifiable record of satisfactory performance in previous employment.
