North Star Human Service Zone partners with the Department of Health and Human Services to deliver exceptional Economic Assistance programs to our community. North Star Human Service Zone is seeking an Eligibility Worker for the Economic Assistance Department. The Economic Assistance Unit provides for the assessment and eligibility determination of applicants for a variety of programs by interpreting and applying complex state, federal, and county policies. This position requires knowledge of community resources and Economic Assistance programs including Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF), Health Care Coverage, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Low-Income Energy Assistance, Child Care Assistance, Healthy Steps and General Assistance. This position will be a Group 4 Application Processor working with TANF and other programs.Program training is provided for this position. Some travel throughout North Star could occur. To succeed in this position, you should have strong verbal and written communication skills, computer literacy, collaboration, and decision-making skills. You will also need to be comfortable working with all types of software and database applications, with a willingness to learn new technology programs. You will need to have a strong understanding of complex program policies and procedures. An ideal candidate for this position will be organized and able to communicate effectively with diverse populations. You will have an eye for detail, be able to manage your time and priorities effectively and pride yourself on excellent communication skills, empathy, and being a team player. You will have a passion for helping others and making a difference in our community.

Minimum Qualifications

To be considered for this role, this position requires a high school diploma or GED, PLUS one of the following:Three years of work experience in the clerical, accounting, financial, legal, or teaching fields Three years of a bachelor's degree program (90 semester hours or 135 quarter hours) Three years combined education and experience as listed above Completion of the Eligibility Worker Certificate Program offered at Bismarck State College or formerly offered at Lake Region State College Preference will be given to candidates with 1 year of work experience determining eligibility in a human service office in one of the following Economic Assistance Programs; TANF, Food Stamps, Foster Care, Medicaid, or LIHEAP. Selected candidate will be required to complete a fingerprinted background check in addition to a state background check which may take up to two (2) weeks to process.

Northwest Human Service Center - Williston, ND - Functional Family Therapist This position is eligible for an 9% pay differential in addition to the base salary.**Will consider flexible shifts, including a 4-day work weekAs a Functional Family Therapist, you will provide evidence-based services to families with youth ages 11 through 18 years old who are at risk or have been referred for behavioral or emotional problems. The Safety Consultant provides safety consulting services to employers in North Dakota and increases the number of WSI customers served in the area.In this role, you will be responsible for:Providing Safety Consulting services for WSI customers.Working through WSI Safety Incentive Programs.Assess customer's safety management system and provide recommendations for improvement.Gather data from WSI loss runs, worksite inspections, and on-site meetings with management and employees.Meet with the customer at the end of the premium period to assess if the customer met the requirements for a premium discount.Attending seminars for professional development and safety research.Loss Control referrals/accident investigations.Provide safety training and public information.Impromptu safety inspections and follow-up on safety concerns with employers.Physical demands:Mobility: Frequent walking, standing, and climbing stairs or ladders to access varied work environments, including construction sites, manufacturing facilities, and office settings. Strength: Ability to lift and transport up to 25 pounds of training materials or equipment.
